I know! Huge challenge. How’s NaNoWriMo going?

Charlie–thanks for asking. I appreciate that. I was 300 words off as of last night. So I’m at just a bit of 18000 words. The story is going well, even though I’ve had to kill two characters I had great affection for. The guy I killed yesterday actually made me weep. Well, a little. I’m not sure if that is good or just plain weird.

Sounds like you’re really on track though! That’s awesome! I’m so impressed by people taking that challenge. I have a few friends who’ve done it and it’s such a great accomplishment. And that’s not weird all!! Well, at least to a fellow storyteller. Lol That just means you’ve made characters we can care about! Nice! (Though sorry for the guy of course)

Of course–everybody loved him. So I had to kill him.

It’s fun. I tried it in ’12 and got derailed because of something unforeseen – you really can’t have too many encroachments on your schedule if you want to see it through. But I did get lots of words written prior. One of the m/c kinda turned me off though. He was v real, but too creepy, so I didn’t pick it back up.

Have you been happy with your results (this year and in the past)?

So far so good. I really like a couple of characters. I always learn so much when I try to tell a story. Thanks for commenting, Laura!

Are you a discovery writer, Kirk?

Not sure if you’ve ever seen Brandon Sanderson’s lectures from BYU – they’re available online. You’re a professional, so you may not be interested, but he is funny and I found them enlightening. Good stuff!

Wow, I think this is also how to paint a perfect painting!!! Has something surreal, reminds me again of Magritte. I like this semi-abstract style! And again, the colors – so good! You really have a hand for beautiful color combinations!
