This is a most excellent sketch – and your plants look like they’re doing wonderfully in the garden as well as in your sketchbook.

Thanks! I like this one too. I actually used some techniques I saw in your sketching–so thank you!

This really is great, Kirk! I’m really impressed! I’m amazed at your progress with no instruction at all. Learning by doing seems to be the best teacher. Did you enjoy this one?

Thanks, Laura. I like this too: I’m coming to embrace the imperfections as part of the whole. This one was fun because I sat beside the little Brussels and tried to take it all in. Thanks for walking this drawing journey too.

It’s my pleasure; you’re blooming! It’s very cool. Roses don’t last nearly so long. I got the feeling you took your time with this one. It shows. And look at your dynamite depth perception! Seriously, you’re rocking it. Did you do this outside (the color part)?

I did. I took my little paint set and sat it in the grass and did what I could. Thanks for noticing.

it is quite lovely. it has perspective and an angle of interest and form and a variety of shapes, all of which make for visual interest and it is quite lovely.
as for the actual brussels sprouts? um….they’re fun to hit with a hammer 😦

Thanks very much. I appreciate that. Maybe you just have not cooked them right–they are most excellent.

This is great – good drawing/painting and an interesting angle to the whole thing – I’ve even be tempted to crop the right hand side and top so that it’s more square and there’s no fade out of drawing/painting. Definitely wall-worthy.

Another great angle. I really enjoy the way your compose your drawings. Great drawing, too.
